Old Bruce Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 If I make a spare channel then edit it (using the new edit channels functions in 1.9.x) and then select all using the marquee tool and copy. I can now paste that into the layers panel. It will appear as a (New Channel Alpha), okay cool. But I cannot delete it. Seems to be permanent. It will consist of (in this case sRGB 16) a set of empty rgb pixel channels in a layer with an alpha channel holding the information from the Channel I started with in the editing and selecting. Also I haven't found any way to paint on the layer, even though its alpha channel is greyscale. Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6 Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
