JimHinds Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 I have a newsletter that requires pinned date/time box with each listing. The creation/pinning takes a couple of minutes. To save time I had copied/pasted previous listings, changing copy in InDesign. When I attempt this in publisher, I get the following result. Can you tell me what is causing the pinned box to shrink? This seems to happen whether using float or inline settings. Quote

As firstdefense said, a copy of an affected file would help. JimHinds Posted December 20, 2020 Author Posted December 20, 2020 Sorry that I forgot to include the file. I am creating the first listing, copying the whole listing, including pin, then pasting below. pinned copy test.afpub Quote

I think what has happened is that your Pinned item is not a grouped text & graphic. It is a text item and is trying to take its size from the text next to the pinning selection. And a word about the text styles, you have overridden in order them to include decorations. You should really define those in the Text style else when you change the dates and times in the graphic it may not update with the decorations. I would create a separate Group Style for holding the Month, Date (with decoration) and time. Include a Character Style for the Numerals. included is a quick nasty example which should work with copy pasting, you'll have to set up the styles yourself.
