ronnyb
Hey guys, congrats again for the awesome launch of Affinity Photo! I had this idea: it would be great if filters and commands (such as Straighten / Rotate while Cropping) had a checkbox enabling an "Inpainting" option to fill in the newly blank pixel areas with Affinity's awesome Inpainting algorithm. While it might not work perfectly every time, it gives a decent starting point for further cloning and clean-up without sacrificing the images original size due to cropping. Thanks for considering this, I think it would be a very handy option. Cheers! LilleG
Are you talking about an option that would automatically inpaint the missing areas? I agree that would be very handy. I currently use Clone to fill in blanks after a Straighten but that's not always a good solution.
ronnyb
Yes LilleG exactly, an option to detect the newly blank areas and fill them in automatically using the In-painting algorithm... anon1
Yes nice idea And to add one more thing An option to resize the image automatically to cut all the partially cropped areas.
ronnyb
It would also be handy if the In-Painting feature had two options (radio buttons): one for non-destructive mode (default) and the other for destructive mode, meaning, the first option would create the missing pixels on a new layer above the current one being rotated/straightned, and so the original data would not be touched, while the second option, would basically merge both the In-Painted pixels and the original layer... 2 more cents... anon1 and Gear maker 2 Quote 2021 16” Macbook Pro w/ M1 Max 10c cpu /24c gpu, 32 GB RAM, 1TB SSD, Sonoma 14.4.1 2018 11" iPad Pro w/ A12X cpu/gpu, 256 GB, iPadOS
