johnisles Posted December 18, 2020 Posted December 18, 2020 My Affinity Pages are freezing on my Macbook Pro. I have to reboot my Mac. This has happened many times. Why is this? Quote
Dan C Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 Hi @johnisles, Sorry to hear you're having trouble! On 12/18/2020 at 9:51 AM, johnisles said: My Affinity Pages are freezing on my Macbook Pro Can I assume you're referring to Affinity Publisher here? As otherwise I'm not certain what you're referring to in regards to 'Affinity Pages' here. Can you please expand on the behaviour you're seeing? Does the app freeze when performing certain steps, or does this appear to happen randomly? Does this happen in only 1 specific document, or multiple? Does the app ever crash/close, producing an error message or crash report? Many thanks in advance Quote
johnisles Posted December 20, 2020 Author Posted December 20, 2020 Hi Dan, I'm using affinity to process my photos. How it froze last time. I had zoomed into a photo. Then Nothing worked suddenly. Cursor froze. I left for a little while then I had to reboot my Mac. This has happened a few times so I thought I should bring this problem to your attention. I receive no error message. Yes it seems to be random. Affinity is my main photo processing software. I do swap between Photoshop Elements. Kind regards, John Isles Quote
Dan C Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 Many thanks for confirming that for me! Can you please open Affinity > Preferences > Performance and provide a screenshot of your settings here for me? Thanks in advance once again Quote
johnisles Posted January 31, 2021 Author Posted January 31, 2021 Hi Dan, Sorry I've been so long coming back to you. Here is the screen shot you asked for Hope its the correct one. The problem I was speaking about just happened again. I was zooming in on the photo ready to Crop and everything froze. Had to re-boot. Cheers John Isles Quote
Dan C Posted February 1, 2021 Posted February 1, 2021 Many thanks for your screenshot @johnisles! Can you please try unticking Hardware Acceleration at the bottom of this dialog, then change the Display to OpenGL. Once changed, restart the application as prompted and try zooming into the document again. Does this help resolve the issue you're seeing? jmwellborn 1 Quote
