Designer: How to align text by baseline?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I'm working on Affinity Designer, and can't seem to find a function to align text objects using the baseline and not the bounding box. Since there are characters that go below the baseline, the bounding box produces completely misaligned text as you can see here:

I'd expect alignment on text objects to be using baseline by default, but it doesn't seem to be the case.
After a quick search on the forums I couldn't find a solution, does anyone know how to approach it without doing it manually and by eye?

I use the following set up in my Snapping manager for situations like this,

It works with different sized text objects quite well

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4
Affinity Designer 2.4.1 | Affinity Photo 2.4.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.1 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
