steve rayson Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 I have just downloaded the TRIAL AFFINITY PUBLISHER - does it come with a collection of images such as CLIPART. When I previously used SERIF PagePlus it came with a suite of images and clipart Quote
Joachim_L Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 Sorry, all Affinity applications are not shipped with any cliparts, except for those (if you want to call them cliparts) you find in the Assets panel coming with Affinity Designer. steve rayson Posted December 17, 2020 Author Posted December 17, 2020 So what's the difference between DESIGNER and PUBLISHER - all i wanted was a desktop publishing package to produce leaflets etc. Do I need DESIGNER as opposed to PUBLISHER Quote

You do not NEED ADesigner (equivalent to Adobe Illustrator) and/or APhoto (equivalent ot Adobe Photoshop), but having all three installed give you a (nearly) complete package. I just wanted to point out with my previous answer, that APublisher comes with no cliparts / images as you know it of Serif PagePlus and assets I was speaking of for ADesigner are more or less simple icons. GarryP Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 Designer may be better than Publisher in certain cases. If your leaflets are more graphical than ‘wordy’ then you might benefit from the extra graphical functionality of Designer. On the other hand, if your leaflets are multi-page, require tables, and/or have lots of text then Publisher may be a better choice. Horses for courses, as they say. Try the Publisher trial for ten days and then try the Designer trial for ten days and see which one lets you do what you want to do the easiest. (I would not recommend trying both at the same time if you want to maximise your time with each as the trial countdown starts as soon as you first launch the application.) Quote
