James Francis Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 Hi, I just spent 20 minutes doing work on a layer I thought was locked. It turns out I can still draw on a locked layer, edit, cut, move... So layer lock does not appear to protect the layer at all. It doesn't stop someone from accidentally editing that layer. Is this a bug? What's the point of layer lock that doesn't lock the layer? Quote
firstdefence Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 Quoted from the post below Quote The Lock feature only protects the layer from being selected and transformed on canvas (to prevent accidental changes). If selected from the Layers panel you can still change its attributes/paint on it - this is considered a deliberate action (by design) which also helps to perform changes to locked objects without having to lock/unlock them everytime. There's no way to "fully" lock an object in Affinity apps.
