Sake Posted December 14, 2020 Share Posted December 14, 2020 Hi, I am having heavy problems with crashes using this app (1.8.6.198) on my iPad Pro (12,9 Zoll, 3. Generation) 256GB. When I edit portraits, I have constantly crashes at least 5-10 crashes per photo edit. I open the raw file the first 10 minutes or so run prematurely good but then it starts to crash almost every 1 to 3 minutes. I even started to flatten the image almost after every step of my edit when using layers but it mostly does not hinder the app from crashing. The heaviest amount of crashes I had was 3 days ago where I had at least 20 crashes until the photo was finished! This is very, very annoying and in my opinion not acceptable. There is also a bug with the frequency separation function. After selecting it, it does not show the value selection screen, only after clicking FS the second time from the menu the value screen is shown! Staff Lee D Posted December 16, 2020 Staff Share Posted December 16, 2020 Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums I've been doing some testing with some RAW files from a Sony A7R III on an iPad Pro 12.9 (2020) and so far no crashes. Can you expand on your workflow somemore and provide an example of your layer structure, it may help in trying to reproduce the issue. Sake Posted December 16, 2020 Author Share Posted December 16, 2020 Hi Lee, First step I do is FS with healing using patch tool and color blending with Gaussian blur. after that I merge visible layers an do liquify an after that D&B with 2 curve layers and finally color grading with selective colors. Most of the time, I get problems already during FS work. If it starts at that stage, I flatten the image instead of merging. I just tested my workflow with the beta version and had only one crash instead 5-10 with the current version! Which is a big improvement already and I had all the layers open. So without flattening👍 One issue I realized with the beta is that the selection menu does not show up when long pressing on a selection and when doing FS the menu to adjust the blur does still not appear the first time, I have to click a second time the FS filter.
