DavidAu
I've created a Live Stack Group of two images, and I want to selectively mask one image. I've added a mask, selected only the mask, and either the Brush or Erase tool. Hardness is set to 0, but the brush retains 100% hardness. See circled in the image. What am I doing wrong here? Selectively brushing a mask should be pretty straightforward and I've done it countless times in Photoshop in years gone by.
Dan C
Hi @DavidAu Thanks for your report, I can confirm this behaviour is By Design - as Stacks only support hard alpha (ie. on or off) and therefore hardness and opacity settings are not honoured here. If you require addressable Alpha, I recommend making a duplicate of the Stack layer and rasterising this, where you can then use your brush with a low hardness setting. I hope this helps! Hi @Dan C, thanks so much for the prompt reply, and for confirming that it's by design and not me doing something fundamentally wrong Also thanks for the recommendation, which was just what I was after. Much appreciated.
