sezwho Posted December 10, 2020 Posted December 10, 2020 I have been satisfied w/ Affinity Photo so far.No problem w/ uploading or exporting. A problem has been occurring however when using Nikon NX 1and Capture NX. For some reason the file system from Affinity has migrated (infected?) the filing systems for the Nikon programs. When I adjust an image, say for a tiff or jpeg in NX1, and save it to a file, the file name comes up Affinity, with no other option available. I have just the past couple of days adjusted images from either raw or jpeg format, save them- which had been saving again as jpegs in file. Now to my dismay and frustration they are being saved in an Affinity format: NKSC Para file, w/ Affinity logo. Nothing I have been able to do so far will open these files: Affinity identifies them as an incorrect format. I, at least at this point, am forced to import the jpegs into an older version of PS (CS4) to be able to save them back to the original file as saved. Advice? Operator error? Help is needed as I am under a time crunch to finish a photo shoot for a local library Christmas party for the patrons. Very frustrating. What am I doing wrong? My attempts to export them are successful as jpegs (I'm assuming here) but in the aforementioned format w/ Affinity. Thanks in advance for your help. _NRP7182 tas.JPG.nksc _NRP7219 tas.JPG.nksc Quote
Staff Lee D Posted December 11, 2020 Staff Posted December 11, 2020 It sounds like the file association for those files has been changed in the OS. Right click one of the and select Get Info (macOS) and change the Open with the default Preview app or which ever you want, it's also worth selecting Change All, this will update all of those file types to the same. For Windows right cick and select Opens with > Choose another app, again choose the default or the app you want them to open with and select Always use this app to open .xxx files. You can also do it through Properties as well in Windows. For files like JPEG I always set them to open in the default app on the OS, it's usually quicker than waiting for another app to open first just to view one or a few images. Quote
