Douglas Cooper Posted December 10, 2020 Posted December 10, 2020 When copying a transparent image from google into AD I get a black box around it as my image shows (This is on my Windows). On my mac on the other hand transparent images don't get this black box and works perfectly. Why? Quote
Staff DWright Posted December 11, 2020 Staff Posted December 11, 2020 When you copy and paste a online image Windows converts it into a JPG when it is pasted so you will always get a background with the image, you will need to use the Save Image As option when you right click the image and the png without a background will be saved and you can then open or place the image in Designer. Douglas Cooper Posted December 11, 2020 Author Posted December 11, 2020 So there is no way of just "copy-pasting" Quote
GarryP Posted December 11, 2020 Posted December 11, 2020 As DWright said above, when you use the Copy function on the image in your browser, Windows creates a JPG from that image. Because Windows creates a JPG, and JPGs have no transparency functionality (in this case), there’s no transparency to then Paste into Designer. This isn’t a fault of Designer, it’s just how it is with Windows. Once Windows has removed the transparency in the image, Designer has no way to get it back. As recommended above, use the Save As function instead. Quote
