Hello,

Assume I have two rectangles. I have a glyph placed over the top of them. I want to perform an operation that keeps only the parts of the rectangles that are underneath the glyph.

I want to ensure that the resulting paths are standalone paths, so the lines have nice square end caps (this is critical. I need to be able to modify the caps of the resulting paths).

See the attachment for what I am trying to achieve.

I cannot find a Pathfinder tool that does this. Am I missing something?
