Hello guys,

I've been having problems with something pretty simple regarding boolean operations.

As you can see in picture 1, I want to combine those two simple vector shapes. When I select them and click "add" in the booleans panel, the result is what you can see on picture 2. You can see the nodes in picture 3, when I try to delete the inner circle, nothing actually happens. I mean it deletes it, but it becomes just another solid shape and that's not what I need. Picture 4 is when I tried to make another circle, convert it to curves and then try to subtract it from the original, now-solid shape, and all that happens is the same result from picture 2.

Any ideas? I mean this is really basic vector operation and I've been having problems with things like this one... I get it that you'll probably never implement a proper shapebuilder tool, but at least fix problems like this one, it's just two shapes :|

Thanks in advance.

Edit: I changed the image, because it wasn't displayed properly.

Although your question has been answered, here's an additional pointer you might like:

If you're going to use the shape for creating a font, change the direction of the inner circle.

In font creation s/w the "cutout" direction must be counter clockwise for it to show "empty".

I'm a bit confused by this "shape direction", can you explain what do you mean by it?
