Scale down issue

I made a logo design and then grouped all of the layers. However, every time I want to scale down the whole group, lines drawn within the layers remain the same size distorting the final image.  Is there a way to scale down a whole group, while retaining inner proportions without having to export the image and then reimporting it back to Designer?

I tried at first checking the whole group, and it didn't work... but then I checked every individual layer and it worked.  Thank you very much!
