First Troubles with AP in Years!!!

Recommended Posts

I've been a long time AP user — using now the latest v. 1.8.6 release successfully since
day one — and I am experiencing issues since yesterday: AP launches but won't load my
interface / workspace AP crashes opening files… any files My reflex was to restore from
TimeMachine first its Application...

Any idea… suggestions?

I would suggest completely removing the app and doing a clean install of it. Probably a corrupted preference file somewhere causing the issue.

I use an app called "AppCleaner". Really simple little tool, you drag the application you want to remove into this, if finds all the preference files and anything associated with the app (not saved files you have been working on). and moves them to the trash where you can then delete. It is free https://freemacsoft.net/appcleaner/

Corrupted preferences can happen to any application, I have had it a few times with Indesign some years back, deleting the preferences cleared everything right up. Now Adobe has a great way of doing this without removing the app, not sure if there is anything comparable with the Affinity apps.
