Flood Erase Tool problem

Hello!

I just started to use Affinity today but there is one problem i do not understand. In this example i want to use the Flood Erase Tool to remove the white background of the logo. But when i click anywhere in the white area nothing happens what so ever.. It have worked once when i used the tool but never again since then.

Take a look in the Layers panel. You have an (Image) layer (a kind of container), not a (Pixel) layer. You need to Rasterize it before you can operate on the pixels that it contains:

• Layer > Rasterize...
  or
• Right-click on the layer in the Layers panel and choose Rasterize... from the context menu.

You will get an (Image) layer if you Place an image into your document, or drag/drop one onto the canvas, or use File > New from Selection.

I too am struggling with this tool.  What I'm wanting is for all the white space around my image to be transparent.  Maybe I'm using the wrong tool?

You have the Flood Fill Tool selected. The Flood Erase Tool, which would do what you want, is part of Affinity Photo, but not Affinity Designer.
