Hi there,

when I double tap on my Apple Pencil on the iPad (Affinity Designer V1.8.6.1), I want to switch between the previous tool and the Node tool. I can set this in the Pencil settings, but it does not get saved. The Tool settings always reset to the Move tool, no matter what I select here. Is this a already known bug and when can it get fixed?

Best, Markus

Hi XenPhi,

I assume you're using the iPad Pencil 2 and that you've set the Move Tool's double tap action to 'Node Tool' and the Node Tool's double tap action to be 'Previous Tool'? The double tap functionality is on a per tool basis so each tool has a different option.

I've found that this does work for me, however I also had to ensure I set the 'Shape Node Tool to also be 'Previous Tool'. If I didn't and had a shape selected it was actually automatically selecting the Shape Node Tool (though this isn't immediately clear). See video below. If this is not what you're seeing are you able to attach a video showing what behaviour you're getting please?

Ah, so you can set a separate double tap action for each tool. Now I get it. Thanks, that's even better than I thought.

The only thing I'm missing is to set the Node tool as double tap action for most of the other tools (especially Vector Brush and Pen / Pencil tools). I only can choose the Move tool and some few other actions, but not the full range of tools like for the Move tool itself. Why is that? Is there any chance that this cool feature gets extended?
