Holger Ullmann
Affinity Photo files are only displayed with the App Icon on the Mac Finder. This is a problem as I am used to identifying files using the image preview. There is no corresponding possibility to change this in the preferences. How can I fix this problem? Staff MEB Posted December 8, 2020 Staff Share Posted December 8, 2020 Hi @Holger Ullmann, @Karsten.G, Welcome to Affinity Forums Go to Affinity Photo Preferences, General section and make sure Save thumbnail with documents is ticked. Open and re-save the files that don't have a thumbnail/preview and you should then see it in Finder. Let me know if you still have issues. Karsten.G
Almost there. This gives me a picture in the finder, but when I go to file info and try to copy that index image to create a folder with that image, all I see is the affinity logo. Any ideas other than using the imag2icon app, which does the job? OS is Mojave and Big Sur, and with CS6 I never had that problem.
Holger Ullmann
I work with OSX 10.11.6 I had already ticked the preferences. Strangely enough, this works with all other file formats such as Tiff, JPG, PDF, PNG ... But not with affinity files. ed-e
Preview is not able to open/display affinity photo image. I followed the previous suggestion, it does not work.
