Not sure what info will be helpful here, but I've been having endless crash issues since the Big Sur update (Mac Mini 16GB RAM dual screen setup). The most recent was last night. Every time I hit the CMD-Z to undo something, Designer died instantly.

I'll start tracking what's happening when and attaching the work in progress where practical.

Hi spinhead,

If you could attach a document that exhibits this - that would be very helpful. However please be sure to enable 'Save History with Document' on the File Menu first before saving, as that will save the history with the document and that will allow us to undo the history entries you've been creating.

Also do you have any Crash Reports that appear after the crashing? If so could you attach those please, you can find past ones (sorted by time) in your Mac's Console app under 'Crash Reports'.

Thanks,

Thanks for the file - I believe you're suffering from a crash than can occur when you use the Vector Brush directly after creating a pixel Layer and then try to undo it whilst the Appearance Panel is visible. This is a known issue that is with development to fix. I can reproduce on your document by simply making the Appearance Panel visible, selecting the top pixel layer and using the Vector Brush Tool and then use Cmd+Z.

Could you try closing the Appearance Panel down (or ensure it is not visible in a group of panels) for me and see if that allows you to work around the crashing please?

Had to look to see what the Appearance Panel was. It was not open, and I suspect it has never been open. Though the rest of the process is what was happening, if I recall correctly: pixel layer, vector brush, undo, crash.
