Why does everything give a transparent edge!!!

Recommended Posts

I am trying to make game art,

This seems to be very difficult considering that the marque selector, pixel brush and eraser all have the effect of a transparent edge.

Considering the description of the pixel brush is  "The Pixel Tool draws pixel-aligned, hard-edged lines" when it completely does not.

And of the erasor, when i need to delete a single row of pixels. It always has a feathered edge, although everything is set to 100% hardness and opacity.

And yes wet edges are off and transform have no decimal points.

Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, Michael. :)

Are you on Mac or Windows? Are your brush strokes aligned to pixel boundaries?

When the Transform panel is set to display a limited number of decimal places the underlying values are not affected. You need to make sure that you’re actually using integers.

I must be doing something wrong, as well. I cannot get hard edges in any other way then using selection tools (like Rectangular Marquee tool) without antialas option and deleting. All brushes and the eraser produce soft edges.

Yup, quite frustrating.

Also, never merge layers. They always blur afterwards.
