David Theoharides Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 (edited) I downloaded Affinity Publisher as a 30 day trial and have used it for several days. I decided to purchase the program and have received a Product Key. Do I have to reinstall the software to enter the product key or is there a way to enter it in the trial version? Thanks, David Edited December 6, 2020 by David Theoharides Quote
walt.farrell Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, David. I'm a bit surprised that you got a 30-day trial, as trials for individuals are usually 10-day trials. However, when you start Publisher, if it's running in Trial mode, I think you should get a dialog where you have the choice of entering the Product Key or continuing the trial. Do you get that? David Theoharides Posted December 6, 2020 Author Posted December 6, 2020 Hi Walt, I really got a thirty day trial, but it only took a couple of days to realize the quality of the software. Thanks for your interest in Affinity apps! Please find your free 30-day Affinity trial product keys below. You will need to enter your product key along with your email address to validate your trial during installation. When I installed the trial it did give a dialog box and ask for a product key. I now have purchased the software so I need to replace the trial product key with the new purchased key. Quote
walt.farrell Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 Thanks for the clarification, David. That's not a kind of trial I'm familiar with, except for companies and educational institutions. But my guess would be that you can either: Uninstall the Trial, then download and install the retail version; or Simply keep using the Trial until it expires, at which point it will prompt for the retail product key. Actually, I have another approach I just thought of that might work. There's a FAQ that provides information about removing your license info. If you did that, you could perhaps then enter the retail product key when Publisher prompts you at startup. Or you can wait for a response from someone at Serif, as one of them will know for sure Leigh 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. Staff Leigh Posted December 7, 2020 Staff Posted December 7, 2020 @walt.farrell is correct. You can remove the licence.xml file to delete the 30 day trial PK. However, when the app starts you should be prompted with a window showing how many days of your trial remain and the options to Continue Trial or enter a Product Key. Hope that helps. Quote
