- Mac specifications:

Processor 2.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7

Memory 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Operating system: MacOS Big Sur

- Publisher version: 1.8.6

- Description:
When I started working on my document at first everything was fine, soon after the number of pages increased (reached around 28) the software started taking a long time to alter text in any form; copying and pasting takes time as well as writing, and changing text properties (size, font, etc...).

  • At first I thought it was the page number, but when I duplicated the document and deleted the pages to around 3-5 the problem still persisted.
  • Next I though that maybe the problem was with the anchors and their links to the TOC, but again, after duplicating the document and deleting the pages and the hyperlinks in the TOC the problem still persisted
  • I read online that such a problem might be cased by the excess fonts installed, so I limited my font library to only the default fonts + the ones I am using (2 or 3 only), but the software was still slow

At this point I am not sure what the problem could be... When using the Designer and Photo personas within publisher everything is responsive, it is only when I switch to publisher that things start to slow down...

I would really appreciate any suggestions to solve this issue

Thank you

Hi uzef,

Welcome to the forums :)

I'm sorry to hear Publisher has started performing poorly for you.
Please could you go into the apps preferences and send me a screenshot of the entire performance tab? Could you also please tell me the size of your Affinity project file and if you go to File > Save with history is this this enabled? This will allow me to investigate this further.

Thanks

Hello @Callum,

Thank you for replying. I will send you screenshots below that hopefully answer your questions.

And after checking, the save with history is not enabled.

All the best,
