BradfordPhotography Posted December 5, 2020 Author Posted December 5, 2020 so how does that help me solve getting images into the shapes??? as you can see in the layers the images are under the shapes but not showing up Quote
v_kyr Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 See the thumbnail images on the layers, are they really clipped (?) and are the images positioned into the curve/shape areas? - If everything seems Ok, check what happens when you convert the "image layer" into a "pixel layer". BradfordPhotography Posted December 5, 2020 Author Posted December 5, 2020 layers are not pixel layers they are the shape and the image layers so i don't understand the instructions i have not applyes a max and images are the same size as the long side of the shape? Quote

The crop icons on the thumbnails in the Layers panel tell you that the shapes are cropped to (i.e. masked by) the images, instead of the other way around; the thumbnails are also farther to the right than they would be for clipping. To crop an image to a shape, one needs to drop the shape layer onto the thumbnail of the image layer. BradfordPhotography Posted December 5, 2020 Author Posted December 5, 2020 the only reason 004 is not in the left trapezoid is to prove that images are there as image 000 and 003 don't show the preview? Quote

Drag the ‘left’ layer in the Layers panel and drop it onto the thumbnail of the ‘004’ layer. BradfordPhotography Posted December 5, 2020 Author Posted December 5, 2020 thanks so much so the crop icon and the placement of the image file is under not on top the shape I cannot thank you enough i tried everything and all the instructions on image placement i though i had followed Alfred 1 Quote
BradfordPhotography Posted December 5, 2020 Author Posted December 5, 2020 I am leaving this post up i hope it will help someone else when moving the image to the shape layer placement correctly will give preview within the shape and it is not to the right of the shape but to the bottom of the shape. if you see the crop icon in layer under the shape and the image is not showing up placement within the layer is incorrect the image itself can be the proper size but will not show up if placed on top the shape has to be under that layer Quote

If you want to clip the ‘004’ image to the ‘left’ trapezoid in that example, you need to drag the ‘004’ layer towards the bottom of the ‘left’ layer and drop it when you see a blue horizontal line extending to the right of the thumbnail; if the horizontal line goes all the way across, the image will simply end up beneath the trapezoid and no clipping or cropping will occur.
