Change to LUT Adjustment display in 1.9.0.852

Recommended Posts

In the release notes for .852 I see:

Quote

Changed Adjustments panel LUT category to be displayed in list mode

Was that done to counter the performance impact of having a large number of LUT presets defined, or for some other reason?

Are we likely to see anything further in the short term that provides the ability to preview LUTs while avoiding the performance (or other) problems that occasioned this change?

Yes, and maybe.

FYI, I added some presets and expanding this list takes forever to load anyways. As if it's processing them, jut not showing previews.
Are there any plans for 1.x release to make LUTs more usable? Presets are fine but addend new is tiresome, and they require me to keep my file paths constant.

btw, are LUTs embedded into afphoto?

Not sure I understand that. Are you asking whether all the LUTs you have installed are embedded into each .afphoto file? That would be very odd. The one you pick will need to be, until you merge the adjustment layer, but there's no reason for any others to be in the document.

What kind of change to the directory structure are you proposing to make?

wanted to make sure they will work once I change the directory structure for example.

Move my LUT files from one drive to another.

The location of the files would be relevant only at the time you press the Load LUT... button in the dialog. After that, the data from the selected file has been incorporated into the adjustment layer.
