Giulia M Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 I have a file that was previously an in design file that has set within it my paragraph leading to 14.4. When I transferred this file over, I have found that when I copy and paste text into the text frame it doubles the leading just for 14 and onwards. I've attached screenshots to show what I mean - is there a way to fix this? I don't want to only be able to type into the text frame directly. This first image is without having adjusted anything the leading is 14, font size 8: This second image is when I paste in text - this text was simply copied from within affinity first, taken to a word document (I've tried notes, word and scrivener to see if it made a difference, it does not) and then pasted back into the text frame. The leading here is 12, font size 8. The third image is when I increase the leading to 13 and above, it jumps to this large difference despite 12 leading being the image above and 14 being the very first image. Quote
Old Bruce Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 Hi and welcome to the forums @Giulia M, Do you have "Use Baseline Grid" turned on in the Text Frames and / or is the Paragraph Style using "Align to Baseline Grid"? I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
walt.farrell Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums @Giulia M. I suspect that you have a Baseline Grid active, and it is forcing the behavior you see in your 3rd image to keep the text lined up with that grid. View > Show Baseline Grid and View > Show Baseline Grid Manager may help. Also, as Old Bruce mentioned, you'll find some Baseline Grid settings in the Text Frame panel and/or in the Paragraph panel or in the Paragraph Text Style definition.
