Publisher is messing up final layout when exported to pdf

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I'm creating a CD-booklet and Digisleeve for a band. I used Affinity Designer (to start with) and transposed everything to Affinity Publisher to fit everything in the delivered pfd-settings.
BUT ... What a mess! The most - if not every ! - edit I did via masking, filters, in Designer is completely useless within Publisher!!
Especially the add's I did are a mess, some add's aren't visible anymore or the blends I used are completely mixed up ...!

No other choice than to start allover again, rebuilding the design from scratch in Designer....

After working for days to rebuild all the designs as-good-as-possible (changing layers, playing with other filters, inserting pixellayers to simulate the same effects, ....), I notice now that when I export the files to pdf (for print), the files aren't exported as designed!! Some overlays are gone, some add's aren't visible anymore, and especially the blends are a disaster, ...
WHAT ...??? WHY ...???

The only way to get the export to pdf in a more or less correct way, is when exporting as 'pdf (flatten)', but then the fonts become pixelated ...
I tried so much 'work-arounds', I can't even remember them all. Going back to Designer and trying to save the design without the text embedded, so I could export background as a JPG, to insert that in Publisher, etc ...

You can onderstand I'm getting deeply frustrated and disappointed !!
And what's more, I promised the recordlabel to send them the final files (which they agreed, based on jpg's previews made in Designer) this week. :-(

So I think you understand I could use some top-notch support and advice from you all ;-)
Thx in advance !
