Hey everybody,

I am trying to get "continuous export" working for the attached document (I just attached it as there is nothing to hide :D ).

I tried it with a simpler document (just some squares) and it works fine.

With the attached document the export is not triggered automatically, regardless of what I change.

Am I doing something wrong?

Steps taken:

1. Creating the slices

2. exporting once with the button (works as it should)

3. ticking the continuous box

(no continuous export so:)

4. clicking the export button with the ticked box again (works as it should)

...but still no continuous export.

Would be gradeful for every tip. :)

Regards,

Kalle

EDIT: Maybe I should mention that I read through every topic in this forum I found on google and looked every tutorial video on this topic to see if I am doing something total obiviously wrong...

Hi funkybird,
Going up to step 3 should be enough to enable continuous export. Have you tried to make same changes to the corresponding layers and check if the respective exported file was automatically updated? It's working fine for me with your file. What OS/Affinity version are you running?

Thank for the quick response.

I just updated Affinity Designer to 1.8.5.703 and I am running Windows 10 (19041.630).

Also I just tried again, jsut to be extra sure and it still doesn't work.

To be very clear:

For example I have the one export which is only including the "Paintable Area" layer. If I move a Layer within this layer or change a color of a layer in there or add a layer etc. it should already trigger an update, right?

Or is this just not considered a "change to that layer"? I am pretty sure, that I tried exactly that with my test-file and there it worked like this.

Hi funkybird,
Thanks for the additional info. Yes, it should trigger an update. See the movie clip below where i have Affinity on top and Finder on bottom updating the images as i soon as i edit something in Affinity in the Paintable Area you suggested for example. There may be a bug/issue on Windows, let me check.

Now I also tried starting affinity as admin and created a new folder to export (just to make sure no other program is blocking it somehow). But it just does not work.

I also tried making a new affinity designer file. Copying all the content to make sure, the file is not broken which did not help. (I did not expect it to help as you used the same file).

Do you have anything in mind I could try? Sadly I do not have a mac at hand at the moment.

@MEB I'm on the latest MAS version (1.9.1) and the latest beta version (1.9.2.1) and continuous export doesn't seem to work in either version.

I've also been having the same issue since a recent update, and some other people have mentioned it to me too.

I experimented and narrowed it down to deleting some text making the continuous export work again.

If I changed the font on the text, it started working too. So I changed the font, changed it back, and everything worked fine.
