anthony31 Posted December 2, 2020 Posted December 2, 2020 I'm having a hard time trying to duplicate a layer mask setup. I've managed to achieve it once, but I can't create a new texture and get it the layer mask to work properly. I have no idea what I did the first time. It's a simple texture. Pixel layer at the bottom, mask layer above it. Painting on mask layer in greyscale makes darker areas more transparent on the bottom layer (for export as PNG). Works fine on the first texture I have done. Try to create a new texture. Setup the same as the first texture but painting on the mask layer in greyscale the darker areas make the bottom layer white instead of transparent. What am I missing here? SOLUTION: Document menu - select Transparent Background. I decided to post anyway in case anyone else ever wastes the morning trying to figure this out and maybe google will lead them here. Quote

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
