Menschhlich
I am wondering if Guides can be locked and unlocked in Affinity Designer (as can be done with Illustrator). So far, I have not found any way to do this. ... help?
A_B_C
Not currently, but improvements to the guide system are coming soon … :) https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/12629-affinity-designer-customer-beta-1351/?p=55952 By the way, welcome here, trottly! :) Menschhlich

jmac
I have not tried this so I don't know but is it possible to put the guides on their own layer and then lock the layer?
A_B_C
No, unfortunately this is not possible, since guides are layer-independent. But … there is some kind of workaround: Set up a custom guide system (guides drawn out of the rulers). “Double” each guide with a line using the Pen Tool, all of them on a dedicated layer. Lock the layer. Set the guides invisible, so they cannot be moved by accident. Engage the “Snap to guides” option, but disengage the “Only snap to visible objects” option in the snapping behavior panel. This way you can see the guides (namely the doubled ones), but cannot move them (since the visible ones are locked, and the real ones are hidden) ... ;)
jmac
A_B_C that is an unfortunate amount of setup to do but a clever workaround. A_B_C
