I have the directories as indicated but nothing under Filters > Plugins
Staff MEB Posted April 11, 2022 Staff Share Posted April 11, 2022 Hi @lysynski, Welcome to Affinity Forums Are you running macOs or Windows? And where did you bought Affinity Photo from? Microsoft Store, Apple Store or Affinity Store? Thank you. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software | Affinity Quick Reference
firstdefence
I can get the plugin to install and open but the previews are split into four partial images... This doesn't affect the application of the effects, you just can't see all of the image. Effects can be applied and are reflected in the preview window see above, if you select New Layer and then click OK to apply the effects, a new layer is not created, if you select Same Layer the effects are applied. So, to that end, make a duplicate of the image pixel layer before you open Portraiture and use the Same Layer option and you will get the effects you have selected. As for installing, I just selected the imagenomic folder as I have the real grain and noiseware filters as well and all of them show in the plugins menu. Staff MEB Posted April 11, 2022 Staff Share Posted April 11, 2022 @firstdefence, Not all plugins run in both OS's. And even in the same OS there's variations depending on the plugin and the store where the Affinity app was purchased. Where are you running yours? lysynski
Hi @MEB and @firstdefence I'm on MacOS Monterey Apple silicon; purchased Photo direct, downloaded the plugin direct. I added the directory for the plugin to the search folders and turned on "unknown plugins" and I know get a similar response as @firstdef. Unfortunately it doesn't apply the effect. Any other suggestions I should look at? Thanks for the help.
lysynski
@firstdefence - I just noticed I have it set for new layer, changed to same layer and it works - sorry about that. Thanks again for the help. firstdefence
