Aligning text

HI,

I use all the affinity tools a lot, I have licenses of everything on Windows, macOS and iPad so that I can work right on assets (I'm a software dev) in the environment I'm using without having to switch to a different platform and transfer data, so I know quite a lot about the tools but I'm not a design level god using them!

How can I align (snap) different texts to the actual left of the text rather than the bounding box?  Here you can see 2 different sizes of text that have a different gap between the box and the start of the letter, I need to align the lefts of them but I can only seem to snap to the bounding box which means that the actual text is not aligned.

I've tried searching for the question/answer but have come up dry.

Welcome to the forums @fizzyade

If you use Artistic Text, rather than Frame Text, then you can use the snapping functionality to snap to the text rather than the bounding box.
My short video, attached, shows some of the differences.

You're welcome, however, you don't need Designer specifically; what I showed in that video should work in all the Affinity applications.
