For some reason my default custom colour palette has changed after updating to latest app version (1.8.6).

Each time I start/ create a new document I need to import my custom colour palette. Affinity Publisher doesn't open the palette correctly by default. See screen shots.

All files are set to RGB8 and sRGB colour profiles.

Thanks

Mike

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums.

Those are both Document Palettes (as shown by the folded page icon), which would be specific to the document they're contained in. To have them apply to new documents you would need to have them in a .aftemplate document that you would use as your starting point for new documents. Or you could create them as Application Palettes, which would be available for all documents you're using in that application. Or, on Mac, you could create them as System Palettes, which would make them available to all applications on your system.

Thanks for the reply,

There is no way to create a system or application palette from colours swatches. For that, all the colour need to be applied to the document which add additional colours I don't want it my palette (like 20 greys etc).

The only way to use the same palette is by importing. See screenshot after I import. It's now an application palette. the issue is that it's not always showing the same colours. Sometimes it works sometimes not. There are various issues I am having after the update so not sure if it's an app or OS specific.

Sure there is.

You create an empty palette, apply a color to an object, and add the object's Fill to the palette. Then add another color to another object and add that object's fill to the palette. The palette ends up with exactly what you asked it to contain.

Note that if you want global colors in your palette, it must be a Document palette. So for that case you should probably create the Document palette in a template file.
