Physical Copy VS Download

Recommended Posts

The help page states that a physical copy of the program (Photo) is made available with the shipping costs displayed just before the final step in the purchase.

One note in the FAQ page said that the program is sold only as a download.  Is this true?

And if a physical copy is available, is it advisable to take this option?  Are there pros and cons to physical copy vs download.

Hi @Picts, welcome to the Affinity forum.

Can you please point me to where you are seeing the part about a physical copy of the program being made available as I am unable to find that part on our Help page.

Our apps are only available to purchase as digital downloads. All references to physical products that I can see refer to our workbooks.

Any spelling or grammatical errors found in the above post are deliberate and included to boost the self-esteem of those who spot them.

And possibly T-Shirts :)

But I think that part of the page could use a bit of clarification about that.

The reference is under Physical Orders near the bottom of the page

Physical orders

What countries do you ship to?

We currently ship to:

That info is for items that are physical, such as the workbooks and T-shirts.

We do not sell the Affinity range as anything other than as a download

Yes, as Walt and Steven said that page is referring to anything physical that we sell. Currently that is only physical Workbooks and T-Shirts.

I think it is not clear either in the basket or in that help file that the software is not also sold as a physical copy, but to be honest you are one of the first to think that it was, and we have sold over a million copies from our store.

I like to be the first.  I'm in the digital stone age, remembering when programs came on 10 or more floppy disks.

Thank you for your quick replies.  I do have one more question.  Are replies on the forum ever sent to email addresses or notice that there is a reply?

If you have Followed a topic (as you have done for this one) then one of your choices for notification is to send an email when someone has replied to the topic. For example, if you click on Follow at the top of this topic you will see the possible settings:

In that dialog, if you click on "Change how the notification is sent" you'll get a set of options covering topics in general:

You can also reach those options by editing your account settings and choosing Notification Settings.
