Changing Highlights After Background Change

I am a hobbyist interested in editing a portrait which was shot with a bright yellow backdrop. I would like to change the background color, but the yellow-looking reflections along the edges of the subject's head make it hard to pull off... Is there a tool that allows you to match highlights to a selected color?
