*mark Posted November 29, 2020 Posted November 29, 2020 I'm looking through the help pages to solve this - I can see every setting, except the one that tells me why the paint brush tool doesn't respond. I'm on a new pixel layer, unlocked and visible and still I cannot get the paint brush tool to paint. I have also tried it on existing layers and there's nothing happening (and it is definitely the PB tool I'm using). I'm moving from Photoshop and Affinity has a lot of great features but I really don't understand why using such a basic tool is made so difficult and convoluted. I've spent an hour looking for an solution.. 😐 Obviously there's a setting or mode I am missing... can anyone help me? and can I suggest basics like this are included on the same brush tool help pages? Thx Quote
walt.farrell Posted November 29, 2020 Posted November 29, 2020 A few common issues: Having Protect Alpha enabled on the Context Toolbar. Having an active pixel selection, and trying to paint outside of it. Not actually using the Paint Brush Tool, but some other one. *mark Posted November 29, 2020 Author Posted November 29, 2020 Thanks Walt Solved: Colour chooser showing white, but when I opened it up, somehow the picker sitting at the very edge of the chooser and painting nothing, moved it 1mm into the white zone and working perfectly ok - Tried to replicate it back to its original 'off' position but now responds with light grey and stays at the edge of the chooser... obviously a gremlin in there somewhere.
