I downloaded Vintage Newspaper Creator but for some reason I cannot import the Styles files - I keep getting an error message telling me that these are not Affinity documents.  I managed to load the brushes so I am not sure what is happening.  I've attached a  screenshot to show what happens when I try to import Styles.

Suggestions welcome...

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, @IanWilltoo.

I don't see an attachment, so you might want to try attaching your screenshot again. Also:

  • Please specify more information about Vintage Newspaper Creator, such as the URL where you found it, as it's not (as far as I know) a product provided in the Serif Affinity Store, and several different products of that name show up in a Google search of the web.
  • What is the file name (with extension) you're trying to import?

Hi Walt,

I placed my order for Vintage Newspaper Creator with Artifex Forge, I also ordered Affinity Photo Workbook at the same time.  It could be that I have confused Artifex Forge with Affinity - are they connected in anyway at all?

Totally separate companies, not connected to each other.

Thanks for the info. Artifex Forge provides two versions of that product, one for Adobe Illustrator, and one for Affinity Designer:

So the first thing to check is whether you ordered the right version. But it would also help if you provided the complete file name (with extension) of the file you're trying to use.

@IanWilltoo,

My sincerest apologies for the delayed response here - do you still require assistance with installing these .afstyles files?

Please note -

I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time.

Should you require a response from the team in a thread I have previously replied in - please Create a New Thread and our team will be sure to reply as soon as possible.

Many thanks!
