John2419 Posted November 25, 2020 Posted November 25, 2020 Photo was working fine . But brush stopped working on all adjustments. The brush appears when the adjustment layers is inverted and you are trying to apply an adjustment, but it will not paint on the image. Quote
John2419 Posted November 25, 2020 Author Posted November 25, 2020 And now when you select the brush icon you get cross hairs instead of the brush "circle" Quote
Staff DWright Posted December 1, 2020 Staff Posted December 1, 2020 Hi @John2419, Welcome to the forum Can you please let me know the type of adjustment that you are using that the brush tool no longer works with when inverted Quote
John2419 Posted December 1, 2020 Author Posted December 1, 2020 Hi @DWright, I solved it. I found that pressing the "B" key to launch the brush to modify the layer, if you press it more than once it cycles through 4 personas. Each persona alters the contextual tool bar for the brush, one of them giving you a square brush. One of the personas works fine. Thank you for replying and I'm sorry to waste your time. Stay well and stay safe in these troubled times. Quote

You can set a Preference that controls how the tool cycling works, so that it will only cycle between tools if you hold the Shift key, too: Also, a forum usage hint: to "tag" another user, type the @-sign and then start typing the name, and you'll get a popup list of users matching what you've typed. Select a name from the list. You'll see the name inserted with a special highlighting indicating that it's a tag, and the user will be notified that you've mentioned them. Note the difference between simply typing @Dwright as you did above and this one: @DWright.
