I have been, unsuccessfully, trying to make the outline (which is currently orange) on this image black, and then to make all the inside colors transparent instead of red or black.  How can this be done?  Image attached that I was using just to try this.  I have tried both Affinity Photo and Designer.  I don't know which one is better for this sort of thing as I'm new to Affinity.

You can try to vectorize/trace the bitmap to vectors (see here for possible tools) by adjusting the trace options to come close to what you need. - Afterwards you can finetune the curve nodes via Designers Node tool, aka remove unwanted nodes/areas etc.

☛ Affinity Designer 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Photo 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Publisher 1.10.8 ◆ OSX El Capitan
☛ Affinity V2.3 apps ◆ MacOS Sonoma 14.2 ◆ iPad OS 17.2
