Magic Wand to Make Something Transparent

It easn't easy to make part of an image something transparent.  Why not something like a magic wand to do it in one or two steps.

This is exactly how it works for me - Selection (Flood Select Tool, ....) and press Del.

Or Background Erase Brush Tool, Flood Erase Tool.

Edit: Found in the Beta. At least the Flood Select Tool.

Okay, I'm in pixel persona, but I don't know where to find "Selection-> Flood...."

Please advise.

There is no menu entry like this. You use  the 'Selection Brush Tool'. It is the fourth icon from top in the left column in the screenshot by Joachim_L above. It works just like in Photo.
