vonpluki
Hello, I don't seem to be able to export a very simple affinty designer document (a few lines and text) to a pdf. It works if I export it to jpg, but when I try to export it as a pdf ("for print" preset), it says "An error occurred while exporting to: *folder/name_of_thefile* I've tried on 2 different computers, and also with a new file where I copy-pasted the elements of the first file and it's getting quite frustrating... how can I fix it ? 1MOS_exo_05_01_Ligne_temps_A4_v2.afdesign
walt.farrell
It works fine for me, but I don't have your font. A couple of thoughts: You might try clicking More... in the Export dialog, and scrolling down to the Embed Fonts setting, and changing it to Text as Curves. If that works, it tends to indicate there's a problem with using that font. You might try following the instructions in the FAQ to enable PDFLib logging, and see if the log provides any hints: Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. iPad: iPad Pro M1, 12.9": iPadOS 17.4.1, Apple Pencil 2, Magic Keyboard Mac: 2023 M2 MacBook Air 15", 16GB memory, macOS Sonoma 14.4.
vonpluki
Thank you very much for the quick answer. It works with text as curves. I wonder what the problem might be, though. Same font works for export as pdf in illustrator, keynote, pages, ..
Staff Dan C Posted November 23, 2020 Staff Share Posted November 23, 2020 @vonpluki, sorry to hear you're having trouble! If you follow the steps in the second link Walt provided and generate a PDF log then this will contain the relevant information as to why Affinity is failing here. Many thanks in advance Quote Please note - I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time. Should you require a response from the team in a thread I have previously replied in - please Create a New Thread and our team will be sure to reply as soon as possible. Many thanks!
