kirk23
1. quick feather slider instead of tedious masking and blurring the mask, then curve edit the mask grey distribution values . Yeah, Xara has this feature too as a simple slider. 2. An ability to turn any bitmap image into bitmap fill instantly . In Xara every bitmap is a fill by default and instantly editable . 3. Making any boolean opperation: cut, combine etc on bitmap filled shape keeping this bitmap fill in place , not changing its scale oddly. So if I want to cut some detail from an image I could just make a square shape and cut other things out in a single shortcut click without doing masks and then go trough the hell of a layers mess to find where this mask is residing. 4. Having "names" , tags or whatever inherited when I copy, clone things . That select by colors etc added recently is not even close to flexibility of Xara "name" tags system. 5. brush that could scatter groups of bitmaps or vector objects around its path . With same Xara style properties sliders alowning to change randomness of selected objects from a group , spacing etc. With ability to turn into regular objects unrelated to initial brush stroke. Not really Xara features but would be nice to have too: 6. Ability to make several alternating segments repeating randomly within a brush stroke . A feature that existed in earlier Serif product. Something like Creative house Expression did 20 years ago with up to 10 alternating parts within your strokes never looking repetitive . 7. An ability to use 3d party filters staying rasterized in chosen resolution but keeping live connection to its origin if necessary. Like Filter forge filter or would be super helpful if we could use Adobe Substance Designer sbs files as a "fill" and could regenerate content any time we need it without tedious saving bitmaps first , then replacing routine. Like some 3d packages can. Xara actually worked this way with old version of Filter Forge once. 8. a kind of live array "filters" or something like what 3d packages provide with ability tweak live the arrays of symbols or bitmaps with random choosing from a selection . patterns based on id colors , radial arrays etc. Everything that 's so easy in any 3d soft including Blender but never worked in 2d soft really beyond super inconvenient to work Substance Designer. Aammppaa
2. I accidentally discovered that this is possible already. Select the bitmap and Convert to Curves. Results in a rectangle with the original bitmap as a fill. I’ve certainly seen it in two or three other vector drawing applications.
