In the attached file, there is an object that is overlapping itself. If you select just the one object and use the "Add" function, the overlapping is resolved. But when you select both objects in the file at once and press the function, the overlap is resolved wrong, as if the fill mode is Alternate, not Winding.

If you move the nodes apart, you will see that the created object may not be as you expected, but it is being filled correctly.
