evtonic3 Posted November 22, 2020 Posted November 22, 2020 Is there a way to make it default for anything added, created, copied, gets the layer under the previous instead of on top? It has always confused me that it goes on top. Quote

It might help to avoid the confusiion if you consider the screen like a canvas you're painting on. Paint/draw a new object. Now paint/draw another. If the two objects overlap, the secondone you painted is on top of the first one. The default layer ordering mimics this real-world behavior.
