Randolph
Finding a word using "match whole word only" is confused by colons. If you search for "word" using "match whole word only" and "word:" appears in the document it will not be found. Apparently the ":" (and perhaps other characters) are not counted as punctuation. walt.farrell
Happens in 1.8.5 on Windows, too, and also in the 1.9.0.850 beta. thomaso
It seems to work here in APub v184, with both activated / not-activated "match whole word only" I get this result: Quote macOS 10.14.6 | MacBookPro Retina 15" | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1

The error is when you just search for "word" without the ":". That should work, too, as it would if there was some punctuation other than the ":" following "word". I must have misunderstood the initial post which seems to include the ":" in the search: 5 hours ago, Randolph said: If you search for "word:" Indeed, with "word" only (= no punctuation) and active "match whole word only" the result varies and handles : different than , . - ! Well that gives a very different result. I even managed to not find it using a regular expression. The colon is really messing things up when whole word is selected.
