sightreading
I have been trying to load a few new fonts to Affinity Designer on my iPad Pro. When I select the fonts and then press open I get a message saying. Can’t communicate with helper application. I have tried quitting and resetting but get the same message every time. I don’t know what helper application the message refers to. Any suggestions. I’d really like to use more fonts.
DM1
Have you tried hard resetting on the iPad? If not, hold the power off button down till you get the slider to power off. Slide to power off and reboot. Fixes a lot of issues. Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen). Staff Lee D Posted November 21, 2020 Staff Share Posted November 21, 2020 @sightreading Can you let me know the model of iPad Pro you have and the version of iPadOS it's running and the version of Affinity Designer. What type of font is it and where it's being imported from as I've just imported a .TTF font from iCloud into Designer 1.8.6.1 on an iPad Pro 12.9 (4th Gen) running iPadOS 14.2 without any issues. sightreading
Thanks. I have a 2nd gen iPad Pro 12.9 A1670 using IOS 14.1. Affinity Designer 1.8.6.1. I have attempted to import both TTF and OTF (separately) from iCloud. Each time I get the same message. I have also attempted importing from my iPad with the same results.
