Hi @rogF,

Welcome to the forums and I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble!

Can you please provide a screen recording of this issue, as it's not something I've had reported previously.

If you're unsure how to take a screen recording, please check out our FAQ linked below -

Many thanks in advance :)

Will try but it is not consistant, usually working fine then on clicking on a different lay it is not highlighted, learnt it is selected and just continue working, then select another layer or create on and it is back working ok

Thanks for that @rogF!

I can see in your recording that you have the Pan (Hand) tool active. With this tool, selecting a layer in the Layers Studio won't highlight it in your document - if you want to select and highlight the object, please use the Move Tool (V).

I hope this helps :)

Dan, I have made the same experience as the op. Sometimes the layer won't be visually selected when clicking on it in the Layers panel until I try several times clicking back and forth between two layers. Most of the time it works fine and will be visually selected with both the move tool and the hand tool but sometimes the layer won't turn blue. The first time I experienced it was after updating from the Mac App store a few days ago.

As far as I'm aware, the Pan tool should never provide bounding boxes for selected objects. As mentioned above, you need to use the Move tool if you want to see these controls :)

If you're having trouble selecting layers in the Layers Studio itself, please create a bug report with a screen recording showing this - many thanks!
