eteague
In Paint Shop Pro 2020 (and previous versions) I could use the selection tool to select (copy) a particular area on an image and hit 'Ctrl C' and then 'Paste as a new image' in which I would have two images on the canvas. Is there a way to select an area on an image using the rectangle selection tool in Photo and then paste as a new image? Thanks!
Staff MEB Posted November 19, 2020 Staff Share Posted November 19, 2020 Hi @eteague, Welcome to Affinity Forums Go to menu File > New from Clipboard after copying the selection. If you are dealing with an Image layer (check the label between parenthesis after the layer's name in the Layers panel) you have to right-click on it and select Rasterise first to be able to copy just the selected pixels (or edit that layer at a pixel level). Check this video tutorial to learn the difference between image and pixel layers. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
