Program crashing

Affinity Photo freezing when started. I select NEW DOCUMENT and program stalls. I tried to download an update but the update generates error (Update Failed). Shall I complewtely uninstall program or what ?

It could be a number of things.

It could be a conflicting app or perhaps out of date graphics drivers.
