Affinity Designer 1.8.6 dashed line

Recommended Posts

I am running Affinity Designer 1.8.6 on Big Sur on a mid-2017 27" Retina iMac with 4.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7, 64 GB 2400 MHz DDR4, and Radeon Pro 580 8 GB. Working on a fairly large document with 3 artboards, multiple drafts of various parts of an image, little bitmap content, and an output resolution set to a custom 1200ppi. The document is stored in iCloud, but I don't think that's much of an issue. I do have several other programs running, so not all RAM is available all the time.

The problem is that, in this document, I create a line and choose the dashed line options and nothing happens. I was able to create a dashed line in a new document and copy-paste it, but that's a workaround, not an actual solution.

Can you help?

I do not believe I can include the file, as it is for a client who has lots of lawyers.

Daft question but does this line have a wide enough width to be seen?

Ok I solved this for myself - In the window where you choose the type of stroke, select normal stroked path. Underneath with you have the option to make the line thicker at one end than the other by moving the graph up and down at each end. Make sure the line in here is horizontal else the dash won’t work.
