Using Shift to Constrain constraining to 180º

Recommended Posts

I'm loving the Affinity Magazine!

Using Version 1.3.5 and going through the Pen Tool Feature Focus and holding Shift seems to be constraining the Tangent to 180º of whatever angle the curve is started on. In other words, as far as I can tell, I'm unable to change it outside of a strait line in either direction.

Is there a setting somewhere that I may have inadvertantly changed from the 45 degree angle?

Hi mikeill,

Welcome to Affinity Forums :)

I'm not sure i understood you correctly but you have to place the cursor first in the direction you want and only then press ⇧ (shift) before placing the next node. This is also valid for the control handles, release and press ⇧ (shift) again, placing the cursor in the direction you want to constrain to a different angle.

If you keep pressing ⇧ (shift) it will not let you pick another direction/angle.

Ah. So you get the angle close to what you want, then press SHIFT, right? TO change angle, UNSHIFT, then SHIFT again when it's near the NEW desired angle, right?
